ACEA presents ‘check-list’ of rules and regulations for automated driving in EU

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has drawn a ‘check-list’ of rules and regulations needed to enable automated driving in the European Union (EU), the association said in a press release on 3 December. The checklist details the legislative framework that is needed to be put in place at national, EU and international levels for greater deployment of automated vehicles. The proposed legal framework covers technical regulations/functionalities, cybersecurity, software updates, liability and accident reconstruction, mutual recognition, driver, traffic rules, road infrastructure, road worthiness and social regulation.
