Beijing adds a new 40 square kilometers areas for testing for testing autonomous vehicles with passengers

Baidu has secured first batch of licenses to test autonomous vehicles with passengers in Beijing, China, Xinhua reported on 30 December. The Beijing Municipal Commission of Transportation issued 40 licenses to Baidu to test autonomous vehicles carrying passengers on designated routes. The test vehicles, powered by Baidu’s Apollo platform, have already clocked over 100,000 kilometers.
