Volkswagen Group agrees to fully acquire digital company diconium
German automotive group first acquired 49% stake in diconium in November 2018
Volkswagen Group (VW) has reached an agreement with the founding shareholders of Germany-based digital company diconium for taking its full ownership by acquiring all of the shares in the company, the automaker said in a press release on 10 January. VW had acquired 49% stake in diconium in November 2018. As wholly owned subsidiary, diconium is expected to strengthen the VW Group’s Car.Software organization, a unit established by the German automotive group in July last year to accelerate in-house development of automotive software.
