Uber has started testing its self-driving cars on public roads in Washington DC, the United States on Friday (24 January), according to a Reuters report last week. The company is using its self-driving car fleet, with human drivers, to collect data for future deployment of fully self-driving cars. Uber was quoted saying that it hopes “this first round of manually driven data collection will lay the foundation for testing our vehicles in self-driving mode in Washington, DC.”
