Toyota Motor, Toyota Industries jointly develop new battery for hybrid vehicles
Toyota Industries will begin production of the newly developed batteries at its Obu-shi plant and also at a site adjacent to its Higashiura plant in Aichi Prefecture.
Toyota Motor and Toyota Industries have jointly developed a new battery for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), the two companies said in a joint press release on 20 February. The two companies have developed the new battery to meet an expected surge in demand for HEVs. Toyota Industries will begin production of the newly developed batteries at its Obu-shi plant and at a site adjacent to its Higashiura plant, both located in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
