Automakers in Europe are struggling to keep their plants running as workers and unions seek more stringent protection measures to prevent spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Reuters reported on 16 March. According to the report, workers representatives in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, and Germany have demanded stricter controls on hygiene, disinfection and isolation for employees working at OEMs’ production lines.
