The alloy can replace aluminum, steel in vehicles

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), along with the University of North Texas and US Army Research Laboratory teams, have developed a high-performance magnesium alloy, which they claim can replace steel and aluminum in vehicles, according to a report by Press Trust of India on 26 May.
