Automakers suspends production in North America amid severe winter weather
Adverse weather is leading to production suspension at a time when the North America automotive industry is struggling due to semiconductor microchips shortage
Several automakers, including Ford, GM, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen have suspended operations this week at their manufacturing plants in the United States and Mexico amid severe cold weather, Reuters reported on 18 February.
