The new aluminum door design meets safety parameters, delivers up to 45% weight savings
Alumobility, a nonprofit organization focused on advancing the adoption of aluminum automotive body sheets, announced the results of its technical study on 8 July. The study demonstrates affordable lightweighting through the proposed conversion of a mass-produced, C-segment SUV passenger door from steel to aluminum.
