US government opens investigation into Tesla Autopilot crashes with emergency vehicles
The agency stated in a statement that the investigation will cover Tesla Models Y, X, S, and 3 vehicles manufactured between 2014 and 2021.
According to a press release published on The Verge on 16 August, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into Tesla's Autopilot software in order to evaluate the technologies and methods used to monitor, assist, and enforce the driver's engagement with the dynamic driving task while Autopilot is in operation.
