BYD Semiconductor acquires major shares in Energen Semiconductor
Energen has invested CNY6 billion in the first phase of its three-phase plan in the construction of fabs
According to a press release published on Digitimes Asia on September 7th, BYD Semiconductor, a subsidiary of China-based carmaker BYD, has acquired a 77.75 percent stake in Jinan Energen Semiconductor for CNY5 billion (US774.8 million). Energen is a manufacturer of silicon (Si) and silicon carbide (SiC) power devices.
