Stellantis, LG Energy to form JV to produce battery cells for North America
The two companies plan to set up a 40GWh battery plant in the U.S.; to start operations by Q1 2024
Amsterdam-based automotive major Stellantis N.V. and South Korean EV battery supplier LG Energy Solution have entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to form a joint venture aimed at manufacturing battery cells and modules for the North American market, the two companies announced on 18 October.
