BMW to use low-carbon steel from Salzgitter for series production from 2026

The company expects CO2 emissions from the production of the steel it will use in its European plans to reduce by around 400,000 tons

German luxury automaker BMW announced via press release on 1 February that it had signed with steel producer Salzgitter AG for supply of low-carbon steel that it will use in standard production of its cars at its European plants from 2026 onwards.
