Panasonic expands Wakayama factory in Japan to produce 4680 lithium batteries for EVs
Panasonic said it plans to begin mass production of high-capacity 4680 Li-ion batteries in FY 2024
South Korean battery maker Panasonic Corporation said on 28 February 2022 that its Energy Company will expand its Wakayama-based battery manufacturing plant in western Japan to produce new 4680 lithium-ion (Li-on) batteries for electric vehicles (EVs).
