Government of Canada to invest USD189 million to develop Canadian semiconductor industry

Investment will help establish a strong foundation in the development of photonics and semiconductor manufacturing nationwide

The Canadian Government will invest a total of CAD240 million (USD189 million) into its semiconductor industry to strengthen its technological capabilities in the manufacturing and research of chips, according to a press release published by Government of Canada on 28 February.
