US Department of Transport announces new CAFÉ standards for model year 2024–26 cars
The new CAFÉ standards require an industry-wide fleet average of about 49 mpg for passenger cars and light trucks in model year 2026
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) unveiled new fuel economy standards aimed at ensuring that cars deliver more miles per gallon (mpg), reducing transportation emissions while saving consumers money on 1 April 2022.
