Salzgitter to examine application of Rio Tinto’s iron ore for green steel production
The companies will optimize the pellet quality of Rio Tinto’s iron ores for use in Salzgitter’s SALCOS steelmaking plants
German steel company Salzgitter announced via press release on 7 June that it had signed an MoU with Anglo-Australian mining company Rio Tinto to examine technical, logistical, and grade-specific issues related to the application of Rio Tinto’s iron ore products in Salzgitter’s SALCOS green steel manufacturing processes.
