UIUC to test application of carbon capture technology at US Steel’s Gary Works plant
CO2 emitted at US Steel’s Indiana plant will be captured and permanently mineralized in concrete to improve sustainability
The Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) announced via press release on 22 June that the United States Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (DOE-NETL) had awarded the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Prairie Research Institute (PRI) USD3.5 million for R&D related to the application of carbon dioxide (CO2) removal technologies.
