Showa Denko to supply Salzgitter with graphite electrodes for low-carbon steelmaking

Graphite electrodes will be used to melt iron in Salzgitter’s low-carbon electric arc furnaces.

The Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) announced via press release on 4 July that Japanese manufacturer Showa Denko Carbon agreed to supply German steelmaking company Salzgitter with the necessary ultra-high-powered (UHP) and ladle furnace (ΩMEGA) graphite electrodes.
