The Gulf Coast lithium refinery is expected to start commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2024

US electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Tesla on 23 August filed an application for an appraised value limitation with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts for a battery-grade lithium hydroxide manufacturing plant it intends to set up in the state.
