Hyundai Steel becomes first steelmaker to produce electric furnace-based 1 GPa steel plates
The steelmaker’s new electric furnace refining technology can help manufacture UHSS automotive parts with a low-carbon footprint.
Business Korea reported on 14 September that Korean steel manufacturer Hyundai Steel had become the world’s first steelmaker to produce high-grade 1.0GPa steel plates using an electric furnace.
