Ford, partners research smartphone-based communication technology for vulnerable road user safety
The companies will use Bluetooth Low Energy to communicate between vehicles and VRUs
Ford has announced a partnership with Commsignia, PSS, Ohio State University, T-Mobile and Tome Software to research on a scalable smartphone-based communication technology which could potentially help warn drivers of pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users (VRUs).
