EPFL, JTEKT co-develop ‘collaborative steering’ based automated driving system
Researchers from the lab have teamed with the Japanese steering system provider JTEKT Corporation to design and successfully evaluate on the road a haptics-based autonomous driving system that incorporates several types of human-robot interaction
According to a press release on 31 January 2023, EPFL and JTEKT Corporation has developed an automated driving system based on the concept of ‘collaborative steering,’ which aims to increase transportation safety, efficiency, and comfort by encouraging active interaction between autonomous vehicles and their human drivers.
