Xing Mobility will release its Immersio cell-to-pack (CTP) product at Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) Mobility 2023 in Munich, it said in a press release on August 30. The battery pack features high-energy density, and a heat dissipation and safety feature. The Immersio CTP Solution is flexible and can be customized to meet the specific needs of different vehicle types such as sedans, commercial cars, trucks, sports cars and sport utility vehicles (SUVs).
The Immersio CTP Solution is a patented immersion-cooling technology, which efficiently removes heat and prevents thermal runaway within individual cells. The solution contains high-tensile-strength engineering plastic and a cell management unit (CMU). The unit also uses an intelligent active-safety module to monitor and control the temperature, voltage and current of each cell.
Significance: Founded in Taiwan in 2015, Xing Mobility designs and manufactures immersion-cooled battery systems for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Its technology has already been deployed across 20 vehicle applications in 12 countries. Xing’s technology uses advanced high-nickel cathode cylindrical lithium-ion cells and is cooled by mineral oil. Xing offers high-energy density of up to 200 Wh/kg and a fast-charge capability of less than 15 minutes — from 20-80% state of charge.
