Volvo Cars, Northvolt break ground on joint EV battery plant in Gothenburg, Sweden
The first production line is expected to be operational in late 2026
Novo Energy AB, a joint venture of Geely-owned Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars and the homegrown battery-maker Northvolt, has commenced the construction of its 50-GWh electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant in Gothenburg, Sweden, according to a press release published on Cision News on September 28.
