In the recent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluation focused on rear automatic emergency braking (AEB) or rear crash prevention for small sport utility vehicles (SUVs), the majority performed commendably, showcasing the effectiveness of these systems in mitigating low-speed backing crashes that are a significant source of insurance claims, according to IIHS' press release on July 18.
