Recall targets Acura models due to faulty FI-ECU programming, with free repairs to prevent potential crashes or injuries

American Honda has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 295,000 Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States to address a software issue in the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU). This recall is due to improper programming that could lead to sudden changes in throttle, potentially causing the engine to lose power, hesitate, or stall, thus increasing the risk of crashes or injury. The company identified the need for a software update on the FI-ECU part through the monitoring of telematics information.
