Freyr Battery cancels $2.6 billion Georgia plant for solar shift

The decision was communicated to the Coweta County Development Authority on Jan. 21, citing a strategic shift toward a solar module manufacturing facility in Texas

Freyr Battery, a company specializing in the production of batteries for renewable energy storage, announced to officials in Newnan, Georgia, that it would not proceed with the construction of a proposed $2.6 billion manufacturing plant.
