The new standard establishes unified testing methodologies and performance benchmarks for automotive lidar systems

The new national standard GB/T 45500-2025, titled “Performance Requirements and Test Methods for Automotive Lidar,” has officially come into effect in China. It aims to support the safe and scalable deployment of advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous vehicles, as reported in a press release on May 8.
