India to accelerate national EV charging grid under PM E-Drive scheme
The planned 72,000 EV charging stations are expected to be strategically deployed along 50 national highway corridors
India’s Ministry of Heavy Industries has approved an outlay of 20 billion rupees (about $234 million) under the PM E-Drive initiative to support the installation of about 72,000 public electric vehicle charging stations across the Indian subcontinent, the government of India’s Press Information Bureau said in a press note released May 21.
