Indian government notifies guidelines to promote EV manufacturing
Approved applicants can import BEVs as CBUs with a $35,000 minimum value at a 15% reduced customs duty for 5 years from the application approval date
The Indian government has approved a forward-looking scheme to promote the domestic production of passenger cars, with a special focus on electric vehicles, according to a press note published by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), via Press Information Bureau, on June 2.
