Fusion Processing has initiated passenger services for the Connector project in Cambridge, marking the beginning of continuous automated public bus services in an urban setting, as reported in a press release on June 26. This service was launched with a Mellor Orion E electric midi bus, with plans for two Alexander Dennis Enviro100AEV 8.5 m buses to be added later in the year. All buses are equipped with Fusion's CAVStar Automated Drive System for autonomous operation, while a safety driver is present to ensure safe operation.
