The conversion of battery cell lines to LFP production is set to commence later in 2025, with commercial production anticipated by late 2027

Ultium Cells LLC, a joint venture between General Motors (GM) and LG Energy Solution (LGES), will upgrade its battery cell manufacturing facility in Spring Hill, Tennessee, to scale the production of low-cost lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells.
