Nissan has partnered with Octopus Energy to launch the next-generation Nissan Charge app, aimed at enhancing the electric vehicle ownership experience in the UK.

Through the integration of Octopus' EV charging platform, Nissan drivers can access over 1 million charge points from more than 1,200 charge-point operators (CPOs), including major brands such as Ionity and TotalEnergies.

Available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the app offers a faster and more intuitive charging experience with a user-friendly interface, real-time availability, charging speed filters and exclusive pricing options.

The app is powered by Octopus Electroverse and includes features to support both daily and long-distance travel, offering dynamic pricing insights and enabling payment methods, including Google and Apple Pay.

Nissan Energy Director Soufiane El Khomri said that the new app is a step toward making electric driving seamless and aligns with Nissan's electrification goals, including its EV36Zero initiative and new models such as the MICRA and LEAF.

The update is part of Nissan's broader vision to integrate public charging into its MyNissan platform. Future features will include Plug & Charge for secure public charging and vehicle-to-grid technology for cost-effective home charging and grid support.

Octopus Electroverse Director Matt Davies expresses excitement over the app's debut, noting its advantages of broad charger access, cost savings and easy payments, aligning with Nissan's commitment to simplify the charging experience.
