SAIC-backed MG launches MG4 EV with semi-solid-state battery

Although the carmaker has not officially disclosed specific details on battery density and driving range, local media reports suggest that MG4's semi-solid-state battery will have an energy density of 180 Wh/kg and a CLTC range of 537 kilometers

MG Motor, a subsidiary of China's leading automaker SAIC Motor, has officially unveiled the redesigned MG4 compact hatchback at the 2025 Chengdu auto show. The new MG4 EV has an official starting price of 68,800 Yuan ($9,650).
