Beijing's market supervisor announced XPeng's recall for steering defects in P7+ sedans, impacting models produced between August 2024 and April 2025

Mainland China-based electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng is set to recall 47,490 P7+ electric sedans due to a defect in the assisted steering system, Reuters reported on Sept. 12, citing the country’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) as the source. The issue involves a wiring problem in the steering system that can activate a warning light, potentially causing the system to fail and posing a safety hazard. The recalled vehicles were produced between August 20, 2024, and April 27, 2025.
