DeepRoute.ai has announced plans to launch robo-taxi operations using consumer-grade production vehicles by the end of 2025, aiming to commercialize autonomous driving technology by leveraging their production vehicle platform for large-scale deployment. The company, supported by over $500 million in investments from Alibaba and Great Wall Motor, intends to use the same platform that currently powers approximately 150,000 production vehicles in China, with expectations to exceed 200,000 by the year's end. This approach contrasts with traditional robo-taxi operators who rely on costly custom-built vehicles.
