Mainland China's suspension of export controls follows a trade agreement with the US, impacting mainland Chinese battery-makers' share prices and tariff reductions

The mainland Chinese government has announced a suspension of the recent export controls on lithium-ion batteries and related materials for one year, as part of a trade agreement with the United States. The suspension was agreed upon by President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump, with mainland China pausing the controls that were announced since October.
