Structure of the Chinese supplier industry
The Chinese supplier industry
After China joined the WTO, the market for passenger cars began to boom. Initially this led to a surge in car part imports, which rose from US$3.4 billion in 2002 to US$11.3 billion in 2004. In 2005 the value of component imports decreased to US$10.4, due partly to a stagnant vehicle market in that year and partly to components that had been increasingly manufactured in China.
