SABIC, IAV collaborate to develop thermoplastic solutions for EVs
Technology to focus on weight, temperature and shielding challenges
SABIC Innovative Plastics have collaborated with IAV GmbH to develop thermoplastic solutions that can replace metal in electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid powertrain components, says a company release. Through the collaboration, both the companies will focus on ways to optimise vehicle performance and efficiency along with light weighting to offset heavy battery packs and shielding in areas of high voltage.
