Significance China's home-grown automakers are facing increasing pressure to create quality brands, but local research and development (R&D) and product development are still in their infancy, so Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are on a buying spree to acquire what they need to build global brands fast. Demand from Chinese OEMs for premium products has led to growing sales for some high-end suppliers.
