DRB-Hicom is pursuing aggressive expansion plans in Malaysia.

DRB-Hicom is in talks with Audi AG to assemble Audi cars in Malaysia, said group director for automotive and defence Datuk Abdul Harith Abdullah, reports the Business Times. When asked if the assembly plan could happen this year, Abdullah said: "We're discussing the plan with Audi AG and will announce it when ready." Separately Stanley Tan, the chief executive officer of DRB-Hicom subsidiary Euromobil – the exclusive Audi distributor in Malaysia – said Audi sales in the country are expected to almost double this year to 2,500 units. Sales will be boosted by the launch of a new model tomorrow (27 February) and the introduction of two facelift models, said Tan.
