Akebono, Koito restart expansion projects in China
Plans back on track following disruption caused by territorial dispute between the two countries in 2012.
Japanese automotive components suppliers are restarting operations in China that they had halted due to the territorial dispute between the two countries in 2012. Akebono has restarted plans to introduce a JPY400-million (USD4 million) production line in Guangzhou for braking systems. Meanwhile, Koito plans to restart a new car-lamp production line in Guangzhou in September with an investment of JPY2 billion, aiming to produce 1.5 million headlamps per year.
