US DoE awards USD45m to push R&D for vehicle technologies
Includes several awards to Ford, GM, Chrysler, Delphi, Halla Visteon, University of Michigan
The US Department of Energy (DoE) on Wednesday (4 September) said it will dish out USD45m in grants to fast track the research and development (R&D) of fuel-efficient automotive technologies, reports The Detroit News. The 38 projects will focus on five major areas –advanced lightweighting and propulsion materials (USD10.2m)
