Toyota, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, SPARX create fund to support advanced technologies

The Mirai Creation Investment Limited Partnership fund will support the development of advanced technologies in fields including artificial intelligence, robotics, and hydrogen

Toyota plans to invest in a fund, recently set up by SPARX Group, that will support the development of advanced technologies in fields including artificial intelligence, robotics, and hydrogen, according to a press release. The Mirai Creation Investment Limited Partnership fund is expected to begin operation this month with a total capital of about JPY13.5 billion (USD111 million). Hydrogen projects could be related to production, supply, or application. In addition to Toyota and SPARX, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation will join as an investor, although how much each company is investing has not been announced.
