Agreement focuses on increasing information sharing to improve rates of recall completion

The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and its National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) division announced on 15 January an agreement between the regulatory agency and 18 automakers to increase sharing of data in an effort to find and fix product defects more rapidly, as well as to protect vehicle owners from cyber-security risks.
