Valeo’s turnaround
Valeo stumbled at the beginning of the decade. For most of the 1990s it had been regarded as one of the best run quoted suppliers in Europe, and CEO Noel Goutard was one of the most highly regarded managers in the industry. However the company failed to digest major acquisitions, and lost focus with a number of dead-end initiatives in the internet and outsourcing. The subsequent turnaround has seen the company return to some of its traditional strengths and add some new ones.
