Fiat Chrysler Automotive (FCA) recalls 1.1 million vehicles with electronic shift control in US
Recall to reduce the effect of potential driver error by enhancing warning, transmission shift strategy
FCA is recalling 1,129,202 vehicles globally to "reduce the effect of potential driver error by enhancing warnings and transmission-shift strategy", according to a company statement. An investigation by FCA US and US regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found some drivers left their vehicles without selecting Park, which presents a safety risk if the vehicle's engine is still running.
