USABC, US DOE offer USD7 million to 24M Technologies to develop, manufacture lithium-ion batteries
Agencies plans to leverage 24M’s technology to meet 2020 battery targets
The United States Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC) has awarded a USD7 million contract to 24M Technologies, a spin-off of A123, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to use its cell design and manufacturing process to deliver low-cost lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and demonstrate their potential for mass production.
