Acquisition expected to significantly expand Delphi’s capabilities in autonomous driving and accelerate its efforts to commercialize its self-driving technology

Delphi has reached an agreement to acquire nuTonomy, a US-based start-up developing software for automated driving, for USD450 million, the automaker announced in a press release on 24 October. The total purchase cost includes upfront payment of USD400 million in cash and an additional USD50 million in performance-based pay-outs.
